At Westwood Secondary School, our Applied Learning Programme empowers students to solve real-world problems through design thinking, entrepreneurship, and sustainability initiatives, building confidence, creativity, and purpose.

About

Westwood’s Applied Learning Programme (ALP) in Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship (ISE) develops students into innovative and enterprising individuals who are ready to tackle real-world challenges.

Through a design thinking approach, students learn to:

• Empathise with users

• Identify meaningful problems

• Develop and test solutions

Students build key 21st Century Competencies (21CC) such as:

• Adaptive Thinking

• Communication

• Collaboration

Learning goes beyond the classroom through authentic experiences, allowing students to apply their learning in meaningful ways.
